This “AMOUR” pillow (love in French) from Senegal is made from African wax print fabric, a traditional material used for clothing in West Africa.  Introduced by Dutch merchants and inspired by Indonesian batik printing, the fabric features a vibrantly colorful botanical or geometric pattern.  The women artisans design each pillow individually: hand-embroidering the text in gold thread with love, care, and unique motifs of their own choosing.  From French-owned and Senegal-based CSAO.
